Posted August 14, 2015 Will that fit in 4s? Gonna be a tight fit.
Posted August 14, 2015 The new USAR will fit in 4's. USAR 41 is used at 4's when R4 is OOS.
Posted August 15, 2015 So what happens to the current R4 (KME)? Does that go into reserves? And what happens to the current HM1, does that too go into reserves?
Posted August 18, 2015 Nice rigs. I would think old R4 (KME) Will go into reserve and old HM1 (KME) will be HM2 (Current HM2 is a Spartan/Saulsbury may go into reserve or be disposed of not sure what they'll do)
Posted August 18, 2015 Were the 2 KME's (R4 HM1) part of the lease contract SDFD had with KME or were those 2 units purchased by the department?
Posted August 19, 2015 Good question 'lkseng3'. They did have a bunch of rigs on lease. Talking to the guys at station 4's, they liked all that extra compartment space the KME heavy rescue gave them over their old Pierce, but very much look forward to the new Pierce. KME is getting better, but shop mechanics like the KME for Keep Mechanics Employed.
Posted August 19, 2015 That new rescue is going to get beat up fast running medical aids downtown. We all know how well maintained the streets are in this city.
