I tried to download a photo of the Water Tender. This is how I found it: Type in San Diego Fire Dept fire station 19. Then click on Water Tender and there is a photo of it.

WT19 is old Water Tender 40. WT40 received a new WT in 2013. All three look essentially the same.

Foam 28 is assigned to Station 28 near Montgomery Field. Foam 28 carries a 750 gallon water tank filled with light water or foam. The main purpose of Foam 28 is to provide protection for the gasoline tank farm located in Mission Valley.

Thank you 'JNP'.  I heard rumors one of the ARFF rigs from Lindbergh (KSAN) was going to go up to 28's to replace the aged Crash 28.  Wonder if that will happen.

Last time we talked about this, there is no longer Foam 28. The foam unit is at 45's and is a newer Pierce Foam Tender.

Foam unit is back at FS28. I think they are rearranging vehicle placement in anticipation of new FS45 opening. Hazmat is moving to 45 plus a truck company. Filling it up fast.

I doubt a crash rig from Lindbergh is going to 28. Those vehicles are owned by the Airport, not the city. And they don't have any spare ones right now.

The plan is T45 will be a new company correct? SD isn't planning on relocating an existing Truck right?

What does SD City do for staffing for units like the Foam Tender, Water Tenders, and L&A? Is there an extra FF on duty covering those units at their respected stations?

I heard the budget includes staffing for T45 as a new unit. No relocation.

All specialty apparatus are staffed by somebody off one of the units at that station. No extra staff unless special conditions exist.

Howdy all!

Interesting news about new 45s opening up with a Engine, Truck, Foam Unit & HM1.

Is T45 is getting a new Truck or a reserve Pierce R/M till the SDFR orders a new one?

I was curious.
