A new ladder truck and a bunch of new RA’s have arrived at the shop 

Does anyone know if the city ordered new foam tenders. While at work yesterday I dropped by the shop and saw that 3 of them are being scrapped.

I was told the Fire Fighters Bitched and complained about the color. So the decision to stay White was made.  A lot of FF like the Grey color but too  many complained.

Truck 85 and 88. Next up would be truck 5

It was my understanding that seagrave got a little pricey. LAFD likes Pierce because of the Tak-4 suspension which LAFD helped design. 

I honestly don’t know why but I guess it’s a California thing most department out here run tiller trucks and some straight sticks.it’s just west coast firefighting I guess.

I must say it feels great to see City backon rigs again. I always thought it was dumb that they took it off due to the San Fernando Valley trying to separate from the City of Los Angeles.

Are these 2nd or 3rd gen. There is about 2 at the shops. Been there for a few months now.

Read your original post. You're basically ripping the County because they "won't" build 116's a new station but they "offered" to build Hermosa Beach a new fire station and you  added in an "SMH" as if to emphasize how ridiculous that is. I'm pointing out that you, as many people do, over simplify these situations. I'm passing on the fact that one has nothing to do with the other. The rumor about a property owner refusing to sell property to the County, yep, I heard that one too. Whether it is true or not, whether it would have resulted in a new station, an addition to the existing station or just a bigger parking lot, who knows? But it still doesn't have anything to do with the Hermosa annexation and/or FS100 renovation/rebuild.
Speaking of Hermosa, yes the firefighter's union supported the merger with the County. But the citizens were "sold a bill of goods"? I'm not going to explain the whole history of how the annexation came about but in simple terms, you know not what you speak of. 

Platforms are not really a big thing for most California departments. Seems like only some of the smaller departments have them.

LAFD tested this compartment style back in 2007 and ran with it after. E51 was the Seagrave version and old E7 was the Pierce version.

22 have left the factory last week.

That's bigger than the LAFD and LACoFD one.

There currently is one new delivery that has been back and forth to so.coast twice I think, its being reinspected and hopefully that one will be hitting the street soon 

This is off topic but I'm just curious as to if they will let Q51 respond outside of universal studios to West Hollywood. I've mention this before but I feel it's dumb to have Q3 respond to West Hollywood from East LA. Same for E51. LA City has resources that can respond to Universal if 51s is out.

I guess those v6 fords just can't keep up to highway policing. To me the ford works on urban policing ( inter-city ). 

Quint 3 to BH or 7 or 8s disttict is a bit crazy to be honest
 

Wow a 31 minute run to West Hollywood for Quint 3 from their firehouse.

Seems like a lot of SoCal depts. are switch to this style.

I'll never understand how county operates. If you ask me, certain area should be turned over to LA City. Example 110s in Marina Del Rey, 51s at Universal, and that little section down in san pedro due to better coverage from LAFD.

I was wondering has SMFD gone back to using there 2 paramedic squads. Squads 1 & 2. I Seen one of them during the L.A. marathon and thought maybe they just was using it for the event. Then today I seen one responding code 3 to a medical call
