  2. Howdy all! Saw Reno Medic 3 rolling on a medical run via YT. My questions are: Is RFD now transporting? Or they respond with a REMSA Ambulance and they Transport? (Similar to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue or Clark County FD responding with an Ambulance or a Squad & a AMR Ambulance responds)
  3. Here's a pic of the new Engine 216 (the other 2 will be assigned to E211 & E214)
  4. No, ocfa relies fairly heavily on tillers still. They have about 8-10 tillers on order (assuming from KME) for 2025/26-2027/28 to replace their 2015-18 tillers, id maybe guess that they may order sooner, the current fleet of tillers are always having issues.
  5. I don't see them getting two stations, though that might be nice. Maybe only one station. I like the idea in north Santee, off Magnolia. I know with the Rancho Fanita development, I thought they were slated to get another station towards the west end of Santee. Not sure. So Santee has fs's 4 + 5. 4's runs an engine, a truck, and recently I am seeing a squad. Not sure if the new 4x4 patrol will be at 4's or 5's. Probably makes sense out of 5's as 4's has a newer type-3 brush rig (Brush-4). Plus 5's runs a fair amount of rescues for the Mission Trails area, and the 4x4 would be a good resource. Fs5 runs two pumpers out of the house, E5 and E205. Though I like traditional RED color rigs, I like the Santee tradition of YELLOW. The rigs at fs4 are RED now. Getting new stations are a huge commitment. They need rigs for them, and personnel running 24/7/365. Lots of $$$. ~Rescue51 https://www.eastcountymagazine.org/recent-fire-deaths-heighten-calls-fire-protection-ballot-measure-santee
  6. Is Orange County Fire Authority phasing out tillers, and going back to the Sutphen platforms as well as rearmounts?
  7. New Heavy Rescue 6 from Rosenbauer up on their website https://rosenbaueramerica.com/whats-new/new-deliveries/orange-county-fire-authority/
  8. Too bad Pierce does not offer the Quantums any longer. I know that was the preferred choice for Oceanside FD.
  9. Howdy folks! In an update to the new engines. The first 2 will be assigned to E216 &,E214. The third rig will be E211 Once the new FS1 will be complete by the end of the year or 2025 due to the current downtown station may not fit the new engine.
  10. Hi Guys & Gals! Members of the OFD are in Appleton,WI to do a final inspection on the 3 new Pierce Velocity Pumpers should hit the streets by May. (Via the department's Facebook page) https://www.facebook.com/reel/428930929792178
  11. Good to know SCNRADIO, thank you for adding new information. It will be interesting to get some dirt on the new Squad-4. I suspect it might be a tender type to T4, used for MedAid calls and more. Hopefully as such, it will reduce the depreciation, mileage and wear & tear, not to mention what is rarely mentioned, which is keep the availability status higher when not used (truck) for BLS level calls.
  12. Heartland Fire Rescue New Engine 6 for El Cajon a Pierce Enforcer
  13. So looking at the roster and i see squad 4 and patrol 4 on a station card and it list them diffent units So I am going to say nope. It is from what i am seeing on the card
  14. Could this be what was listed as SQ4, instead a patrol? Nice looking rig. 300gwt. Photo credit South Coast Fire.
  15. I remember Oceanside has a Squad (as Medic Squad 211) using a former Battalion Chiefs vehicle. Also Encinitas & Rancho Santa Fe has new Patrols that have Paramedic Equipment installed (Similar to the Medic Patrols that Riverside County Fire/Cal Fire uses)
  16. Another update! Turns out we got a curveball, Truck 20 from Irvine received the final 2023 Sutphen, replacing their 2018 KME TDA. T20s tda will be going to T56 as the sutphen would not meet their needs as they are a usar unit. T85 will likely instead be receiving one of the KME rearmounts once they arrive.
  17. Station 34 at the airport got inherited by the Northern AZ Fire District, but they appear to have closed it down. There used to be the E-One ARFF unit there and the 1982 Dodge that had been there forever. Am not sure if those have been sold off. Doesn’t appear the airport has dedicated units anymore. The ARFF came about there when Kingman used to have small airline service into there, and it remained when that service ceased. however, with the cost of maintaining that capability when it was no longer required to have, maybe that did it in.
  18. Yesterday Friday February 16 2024 just after 1230 PM, The West Covina Fire Department became a member of the Verdugo Fire Dispatch system, West Covina Fire Station's are numbered 121-125 with Assistant 1 now known as Battalion 12.

  21. Station 105 has a new Pierce truck I've noticed there no T in front of the station number on the front or back of the truck
  22. The Pioneer Hook and Ladder SDFD Museum in the Little Italy section of San Diego sells SDFD Shirts and hats.
  23. Seems some departments are doing what I recommended (like a parrot) for many years, which is to use a squad or rescue (technical/USAR) in place of a aerial ladder truck, for the high volume of medical aids, especially so many being BLS level. It is nice to see them doing this like El Cajon/Heartland Fire-Rescue's SQ6. I am seeing recently a SQ4 too for Santee FD, I am assuming in place of their Pierce TDA.
  24. Well now i am seeing a squad 14 on calls so may be that is the reason for the truck moved to 14s More ems calls so a squad can be used instead of the truck
  25. E17 new rig is at the shops. New pierce.
  26. I noticed on a run last night, Santee FD had Squad 4 (SQ4) along with Truck 4 (T4) on the incident. Anyone have any information on which rig the "squad" is? Thanks.
